To get into Cherating, the best way is perhaps by road where you come in through the Kuantan. From there, you will have to go towards Kemaman where you will go through the towns of Beserah and Balok. Getting to Kuantan form the country’s capital of Kuala Lumpur or the west side, you will have to take the East Coast Expressway where you will not be needed to get into Kuantan but head directly to Cherating through the Jabor exit where you will be met with the trunk road. There are also bus services that takes you directly to Cherating from most major towns in around Peninsular Malaysia. Kuantan, the nearest city in around here have buses coming in every day through the Kemaman-bound bus services. Interstate buses are also available from Kuala Terengganu as well while major cities like Penang, Kota Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru all commutes visitors to and from Cherating.
Alternatively, you can come in through air by taking Malaysia Airlines, the national air carrier or Air Asia, the budget airline that comes into the Kuantan International Airport daily. Note that as the airport is located quite far away from Cherating, you will have to plan your own transport to get to there from the airport. There are shuttle services available from the airport but you are advised to inform the resort that you are staying in of your arrival for them to make arrangements for you. In Cherating, you can rent bicycles or cars to get around although chances are you will be going around on foot. There really isn’t that much to go around for except for shopping for souvenirs and such. Most visitors here will enjoy the time spent here doing nothing or go around on foot.
